Rainwater saves lives, ARCSA Standards Manual used. Hi everyone, I wanted to share an update on a rainwater harvesting project that is saving thousands of lives in Kenya. A village pastor and orphanage manager named Festus reached out to me after seeing my "Alternate Water" video online. His village has no local water source; residents previously spent hours every day carrying 40-pound jugs of contaminated water from a valley miles away. This water often led to serious illnesses like cholera and dysentery. Through extensive training sessions over WhatsApp, I helped Festus apply the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) standards to his village’s needs. By utilizing locally manufactured 10,000-liter poly tanks—which are significantly more affordable than those in the U.S.—we were able to build a gravity-powered system with no moving parts.
